Specifications
Key Features
Intel Celeron N3350 is a dual-core SoC mainly used in cheap notebook computers, released in mid-2016. Its operating frequency is 1.1-2.4 GHz (single-core turbo frequency, multi-core turbo frequency up to 2.3 GHz), based on the Apollo Lake platform. Similar to Braswell, the chip is manufactured using a 14-nanometer process (P1273) and FinFET. In addition to the two CPU cores, the chip also includes a GPU that supports DirectX 12 and a DDR3L / LPDDR3 / LPDDR4 memory controller (dual channel, up to 1866/2400 MHz). Intel Celeron N3350 processor performance benchmark evaluationArchitectureIn the past few years, Intel has completely transformed the CPU architecture of the Atom series for the first time. The manufacturer claims a performance increase of about 30%, but did not disclose any details about the individual changes. Therefore, in terms of performance per MHz, the new Goldmont architecture should be roughly equivalent to AMD's Beema/Carrizo-L APU, but it still lags far behind the more expensive core CPUs (such as Skylake/Kaby Lake).performanceThe CPU performance of Celeron N3450 with 2 CPU cores and 1.1-2.4 GHz frequency should largely depend on the cooling solution. If the chip can maintain its Boost frequency, the N3450 should be 20-30% faster than the old N2840 (Braswell) and compete with Celeron 2955U (Haswell, 2x 1.4 GHz). This means that the processor is very suitable for daily tasks (office, browsing) and moderate multitasking.Integrated GraphicsHD Graphics 500 (Apollo Lake) is based on Intel's Gen9 architecture, supports DirectX 12, and is also used in Kaby Lake / Skylake graphics adapters (such as HD Graphics 520). Equipped with 12 EUs and a frequency of up to 650 MHz, the performance should be roughly equivalent to the old HD Graphics (Braswell). This means that only older and simpler games can run smoothly. The chip also includes an advanced video engine, and the hardware supports playback of VP9 and H.265 material (8-bit color depth).Power consumptionSimilar to the previous generation of products, Intel specifies a TDP of 6 watts (SDP 4 watts-scene design power). Therefore, in theory, the chips can be passively cooled, but SKUs with fans can also be used.
