The Canon SELPHY CP1000 is a compact dedicated photo printer designed for users who want to produce high-quality physical photographs quickly and conveniently. Unlike conventional inkjet printers, it uses dye-sublimation thermal printing technology, applying colour in successive passes before adding a protective overcoat. The result is vibrant photo output designed for long-term preservation, with Canon specifying print longevity of up to 100 years when stored in an album under its stated conditions.
The CP1000 is particularly convenient for direct photo printing. You can print photographs from compatible SD, SDHC, SDXC, CompactFlash and other supported memory cards, USB flash drives or compatible cameras through PictBridge. This makes it useful for photographers, events, photo booths, ID-photo applications, families and anyone who wants physical photographs without first transferring them to a computer.
The printer features a 2.7-inch TFT colour LCD monitor with a tilt mechanism, allowing you to preview and select photographs directly on the device. Canon provides several creative options, including image optimisation, brightness correction, smooth skin, multiple-photo layouts, ID photo creation and different print finishes. It supports postcard, L-size and card-size media, as well as selected label formats.
Despite its capabilities, the SELPHY CP1000 has a remarkably compact footprint. The printer measures approximately 178 × 135 × 60.5 mm and weighs approximately 840 g, making it easy to transport for events or use in locations where desk space is limited. It can operate from the supplied AC adapter, while an optional NB-CP2L/NB-CP2LH battery pack can provide portable operation when available.
IMPORTANT PRODUCT INFORMATION
The Canon SELPHY CP1000 is a dedicated photo printer. It is not a Print/Scan/Copy multifunction printer and does not have a document scanner.
It uses dedicated dye-sublimation ink/paper cassettes, rather than conventional ink cartridges used by Canon PIXMA inkjet printers.
Photo paper and ink cassettes should be purchased separately unless specifically stated as included in the seller's package.
