This is mainly for warming water, soup, and small portions of food like yam or plantain. However, it's too small to cook something like 1 cup of rice or beans, even for one person. The good thing is that it heats food very quickly, especially small quantities. Just make sure you don't leave it unattended, because it may switch off automatically before the food is fully cooked, which could leave the food undercooked.
