Note: A Quick Guide to Freeze Frame Data

When a fault occurs in the emissions system, the ECU stores the data present at the moment the fault code is triggered; this stored data is known as "freeze frame" data. First, the power transmission path of the vehicle is: Engine → Clutch → Transmission → Driveshaft → Drive Axle (including reduction gear and differential) → Drive Wheels.
Next, the driver controls the engagement and disengagement of the clutch and engine via the clutch pedal in the cabin (pressing the pedal disengages the clutch from the engine, cutting off power output; releasing the pedal engages the clutch with the engine, allowing power to be transmitted).
Then, the driver selects different gears using the gear shift lever—thereby controlling the transmission—to adjust the vehicle's speed.
Finally, the driver operates the vehicle's braking system using the brake pedal.
Note: Functions controlled by dashboard buttons—such as headlights, taillights, and air conditioning—fall under the category of automotive electrical systems and instrumentation.
