DURAWOOD LONG-LIFE VARNISH is a premium quality, longlife wood protector for previously varnished, or unvarnished hard and soft woods.

Surface Preparation  
 It is recommended to treat and protect wood on a regular basis.  Ensure that surfaces are sound and free from dust, dirt, grease and oil. Wood must be thoroughly dry.   New wood: Sand down in the direction of the grain to a smooth, even surface. Remove dust.  Previously varnished wood in good condition: Sand to a matt finish to create a key. Remove dust with a cloth dampened with FAST MINERAL TURPENTINE. Treat as new wood (see above). 
Previously painted/varnished wood in bad condition: Remove old paint/varnish completely by sanding or stripping with FAST PAINT STRIPPA. Treat as new wood (see above).  Wood previously coated with wood treatment containing oil or wax: Remove treatment completely by sanding or stripping with FAST PAINT STRIPPA. Remove dust. Treat as new wood (see above).  Discolored, faded or weathered wood: Sand down in the direction of the grain to a smooth, even surface. Remove dust. 

Application Details 

• Mixing : Stir thoroughly
•  Method : Brush or spray 
• Thinning :  Thin only the first coat by 5% with  mineral turpentine for brush application  Thin by 10% with mineral turpentine for spray application 
• Cleaning : Fast Mineral Turpentine or Fast Magikleen
•  Drying time : 18 Hours 
• Recoating time 18 Hours   

  Hints and tips: 

•  Always sand in the direction of the wood grain. 
• Start with 150 grit sandpaper and finish with 360 grit.
•  To remove dust, wipe surface with a cloth dampened with FAST MINERAL TURPENTINE.
•  For best performance, apply 3 coats.
•   Sand lightly between coats with fine paper to denib. Dust off. This removes upstanding wood fibre ends.
•   If using a brush, apply LONG-LIFE VARNISH in an even thickness and finish in the direction of the grain.
•  Clean brushes with FAST MINERAL TURPENTINE or FAST MAGIKLEEN.
• .Do not apply to damp or wet timber. Obtain the stockists’ advice if you are uncertain about the previous coating used.  

Safety Precautions:

•  Keep out of reach of children. 
•  Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. 
•  In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water or a recognized skin cleanser.  
• Avoid contact with eyes – In case of contact, rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. 
•  Harmful if swallowed. Do not induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water. Seek medical attention.
